Dear Colorly Coach Karen,

The ends of my clients hair looks to be about a level 9 fairly yellow looking, some of it actually looks like a 10 highlighted through it. Her natural level is s 5 she has about 4 inches of regrowth and about 4 inches of level 9. She wants to go back to her natural level. Oh ya, the ends are kinda porous. Do I really need to repigmentize (fill) the ends?

a_symThis challenge is…easily...(2020)…solved…sorry couldn't help myself there! When using Colorly 2020 it is not always necessary to repigmentize the ends. It depends on the situation everyone is different. In this case it is not necessary to repigmentize the ends. Choosing the best color base will suffice. You want something that is a warm based brown that will give a natural result not anything that is cool or ask or even a neutral…when you have lighter hair going darker…always always formulate to the warm side…better a little warm than a little ash gray/green.

Using 5CH chocolate or 5CP chocolate chili pepper or a combination of the two and Oxily 20 will give an excellent result with OUT any filling. Prior to applying the color it would be a good idea to mist the hair with Equalizer to balance out the porosity…Apply from roots to ends and let it process for 30 min. and you will have perfection and a happy client! (and probably a big tip for you!)
